Vet appointments are short and it’s easy to walk out realising you forgot the thing you actually came for. Write it down before you go.
Worth asking at almost any visit
- Is this weight healthy for this breed and age — and if not, what’s the target?
- Is the food we’re using right for this life stage?
- Which vaccinations and parasite treatments are due, and when’s the next one?
- What’s normal for this age, and what would you want to see again for?
- If you prescribe something: what’s it for, how long, and what side effects should I watch for?
If you came about a specific problem
- When did it start, how often does it happen, and is it getting worse?
- Bring a video. Animals are famously healthy in the waiting room.
- What else could it be, and what would rule that out?
- What would make this urgent — what should send me back straight away?
